Cuban Deputy Prime Minister meets with FAO Director-General

Addis Ababa, July 28, 2025.- On the sidelines of his participation in the Second Stocktaking Moment of the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4), Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, held a warm meeting with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), QU Dongyu.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for FAO’s long-standing and ongoing cooperation with Cuba, particularly in key areas such as food security, sustainable agriculture, and the strengthening of national capacities. Both parties agreed on the need to further deepen their collaborative ties to address today’s global challenges.
