The Cuban Embassy in Austria celebrates International Children's Day.
Vienna, June 3, 2023 - On a pleasant Saturday afternoon, under the auspices of the Cuban Consulate in Austria, the International Children's Day was celebrated with a dance workshop, dedicated to children and adolescents children of Cuban parents residing in Austria.
The Cuban teacher and dancer, Luis Estévez, gave a class on the typical dances of our nation, such as: Danzón, Son, Salsa and Cha cha cha cha, which allowed the children and young people to learn more about Cuban culture and to be more connected to their roots.
Although the activity was mainly dedicated to the children, parents, family and friends participated in the class.
The children and adolescents, as well as their families, thanked the Cuban Embassy in Austria for this initiative, which allowed them to get closer to Cuban culture and encouraged them to continue learning about it.
International Children's Day was instituted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1956 and is dedicated to the understanding and respect for children's rights worldwide.
