Cuban Embassy in Ethiopia joins signing of Declaration in support of Venezuela

Addis Ababa, September 29, 2025.- The Cuban Embassy in Ethiopia joined the signing of the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government of Cuba this Monday, in firm support of the brotherly people and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the face of recent threats to its sovereignty.

The event was attended by the Venezuelan Ambassador to Ethiopia, Eddy J. Córdova, along with other members of the diplomatic mission.

In her remarks, the Cuban Ambassador, Meylin Suárez Álvarez, reaffirmed the solidarity and historic brotherhood of the Cuban people with Venezuela, while rejecting the increasing military deployment of the United States in the Caribbean Sea, an action that violates the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, the Treaty of Tlatelolco for the prohibition of nuclear weapons in our region, and the principles of the UN Charter.

The diplomat also evoked the thoughts of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, who declared:

"... this America is too awake to be deceived. This America is too on guard to be subjugated again. These peoples have acquired too great an awareness of their destiny to resign themselves again to the subjugation and miserable abjection in which we have been living for more than a century."

The signing of this Declaration has taken place throughout the island as a demonstration of Cuba's unwavering commitment to the defense of Venezuela's sovereignty and the unity of our America.
