Addis Ababa, April 23, 2026.- The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba participated in the celebration of Spanish Language Day, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) at its headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The event brought together diplomatic representatives, UN officials, students, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Ethiopia to pay tribute to the cultural and linguistic richness of the Spanish language.
In her remarks, the Cuban Ambassador, Meylin Suárez Álvarez, called for peace and unity among peoples, underscoring the importance of preserving the essence and values of our nations even in the most difficult circumstances. She emphasized that the history and culture shared by Spanish-speaking countries are an example of resilience, creativity, and solidarity.
The day, which included the participation of several Spanish-speaking embassies, featured artistic expressions, culinary demonstrations, and cultural activities that reflected the diversity and vitality of the Hispanic world.
