Cuban Embassy in Liberia commemorates 90th birthday of Camilo Cienfuegos.

Monrovia, February 6, 2022 - This February 6 marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriarán. He was born on February 6, 1932 in Lawton, Cuba.

The Hero of Yaguajay and Lord of the Vanguard, as he was also known, will always be remembered for being one of the fundamental pillars of the Cuban revolution.

He was a faithful combatant and revolutionary, inseparable companion of Ernesto "Che" Guevara and one of the most charismatic leaders of the Cuban Revolution.

The Hero of Yaguajay, an honorary title given to him spontaneously by the Cuban people for his courage, was Chief of Staff of the Rebel Army after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
