Ottawa, February 22, 2019.- The Embassy of Cuba in Ottawa in cooperation with the Spanish Program at the University of Ottawa, hosted the screening of the Cuban film Cuba Libre directed by Jorge Luis Sánchez.
Prior to the viewing of the film at the University of Ottawa, a Spanish Language student Rachel presented the movie, which portrays the last months of the Cuban-Spanish-American War that led to the subsequent US military occupation of Cuba, a particularly sensitive period in the history of the island.
Cultural and Press attachée at the Embassy of Cuba, Mrs. Areadna Quintana, seized the occasion to thank the University of Ottawa for the opportunity to screen this Cuban film and all participants for attending.
Some members of solidarity with Cuba groups, Cuban residents, uOttawa students and a representation of the Embassy of Cuba in Ottawa were in attendance.
