Addis Ababa, March 13, 2025.- As part of his official visit to Ethiopia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, was received this Thursday by His Excellency Mr. Tagesse Chafo, President of the House of Representatives of the People of Ethiopia, a meeting that reaffirms the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the President of the Chamber conveyed a cordial welcome to the Cuban Foreign Minister and the delegation accompanying him, highlighting the importance that Ethiopia attaches to relations with Cuba, a country he recognized for its firm support at key historical moments.
Both sides agreed on the excellent state of parliamentary relations and underlined the potential to expand bilateral cooperation, not only at the governmental level, but also by strengthening ties between the two countries' parliaments.
Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla reiterated Cuba's gratitude for the historical solidarity of the Ethiopian people and government with the Cuban Revolution, and highlighted the Cuban government's willingness to continue expanding bilateral ties in sectors of common interest.
The Cuban Foreign Minister's visit to Ethiopia takes place in a special context, when Cuba and Ethiopia commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations, marked by solid friendship and cooperation that has benefited both peoples.
The Cuban foreign minister was accompanied by Cuba's ambassador to Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez Álvarez, Cuba's ambassador to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández, the director of Sub-Saharan Africa of the Cuban Foreign Ministry and other officials from the island's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
