Monrovia, July 16, 2018-, In the framework of a cordial meeting held between the Liberian Vice Chancellor, Mr. Elias Shoniyin and the Charge d'Affaires of Cuba, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, the latter delivered a congratulatory message from the authorities Cuba to its Liberian counterparts for the upcoming, on July 26, of the 171 anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of Liberia.
The Cuban diplomat extended messages from Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez to his African counterpart Mr. George Manneh Weah and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla to his counterpart Mr. Gbehzonghar Milton Findleyn, congratulating the African nation for its independence while the willingness to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship between both nations is reiterated. It was also an occasion to convey the gratitude of the Cuban head of state, on behalf of the government and people of the Caribbean island, to Mr. George Weah for conveying his condolences in the face of the tragic plane crash in Havana on May 18th 2018
