Monrovia, August 15, 2022 - Responding to an invitation extended by the Embassy of India in Monrovia, Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera attended the celebration on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Asian country.
Havana and New Delhi maintain close ties marked by transcendental events such as the two visits of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, to the Asian nation (in 1973 and 1983), in addition to a high level of agreement on issues of the multilateral agenda.
Cuba and India established diplomatic relations on January 12, 1960, based on respect, collaboration and friendship between both peoples and governments.
