Cuban Head of Mission attends the launch of the Liberian airline "Lone Star Air".

Monrovia, October 30, 2020.- Cuban Chief of Mission in Liberia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera was invited to participate in the launch ceremony of the Liberian airline Lone Star Air, along with other members of the diplomatic corps and Liberian President George Manneh Weah, who issued the invitation.

The Liberian government and Ghana's Goldstar Air have signed a strategic partnership to revive the country's national airline. Liberia's new national airline is called Lone Star Air and will initially fly from Monrovia to 11 destinations in West Africa, including Accra, Abidjan, Abuja, Banjul, Bissau, Conakry, Dakar, Freetown, Lagos, Ouagadougou and Sao Tome.

Liberia's national airline stopped operating about 30 years ago, in 1990. Now, after years of consultations, the President of Liberia has decided on the management services of Goldstar Air.

The aim is for the country to use the airline as a motor for social and economic transformation, with the main objective of the airline attracting more visitors to Liberia. The airline plans to be low cost, with a focus on tour operators.
