Monrovia, July 7, 2022 - Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a cordial exchange with Liberian leader Cllr Yvette Chesson-Wureh, promoter of gender equality and Coordinator of the Angie Brooks International Center for the Empowerment of Women.
The two women exchanged on gender equality in Liberia, which ranks men and women in four key areas: health, education, economics, and politics.
Gender in Liberia is a complex variable that is part of social, cultural, economic and political contexts.
The fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goal on gender equality poses dissimilar challenges for Cuba today, even though since its triumph the Revolution has been committed to equal conditions and rights for men and women.
