Cuban Head of Mission holds exchange with Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund.

Monrovia, September 13, 2024 - During an event sponsored by the United Nations, Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a cordial meeting with the Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Dr. Sennen Hounton, who was visiting Liberia.

During the exchange, Mr. Hounton praised Cuba for the role it has played in the training of human resources on the African continent and for the preparation of health professionals in the Greater Antilles.

Dr. Hounton's visit marks the continued commitment of UNFPA and the UN system in general to support Liberia as it moves towards national development.
