Cuban Head of Mission holds exchange with Vatican representative in Liberia

Monrovia, April 21, 2022 - The Head of Mission of Cuba Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera, held an exchange with the Vatican representative Reverend Monsignor Dagoberto Campos Salas, Apostolic Nuncio in the Republic of Liberia.

During the meeting, both diplomats recalled historic moments between Cuba and the Holy See: the visits of Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis to Cuba, and the visits of Presidents Fidel and Raul Castro to the Vatican and of the current head of state, Miguel Diaz-Canel, then first vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, in 2013.

The meeting took place in a fraternal and respectful atmosphere.
