Monrovia, August 19, 2022 - Cuban Head of Mission in Monrovia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera, responding to an invitation from the Angie Brooks International Center (ABIC) for Women's Empowerment, Leadership Development, Peace and International Security, participated in the official closing of the project "Inclusive and Sustainable Peace in Liberia through the Promotion of Women's Leadership".
At the event, women from two of the country's counties issued criteria on the promotion of Women's leadership on the topic at hand.
ABIC's key mandates are training women for political leadership, peace building, mediation and negotiation skills.
The project, according to the organizers, is basic to sustainable and inclusive peace in Liberia by promoting women's leadership and participation in civic and political life and their role in conflict resolution.
