Cuban Head of Mission participates in the celebration of the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation.

Monrovia, February 6, 2023 - Together with Liberian Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Williametta E. Saydee-Tarr and UN Women Representative in Liberia Comfort Lamptey, Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera participated in an activity held on the occasion of the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) - 2023.

In this context, this year's event was held under the theme: Partnering with men and boys to transform social and gender norms to end FGM.

The commemoration of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation aims to raise awareness of the negative impact of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) on women and girls in Liberia.
