Monrovia, November 4, 2022 - Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera participated, along with members of the diplomatic corps, in the ceremony marking the launch of the Dialogues on Peace, Security and Development in Liberia.
The dialogue which was organized under the auspices of Liberia's international partners, including ECOWAS and others, aims to contribute to conflict prevention and risk mitigation in the run-up to the African country's general and legislative elections to be held in October 2023.
The series comprises monthly national dialogues on carefully selected topics to be addressed by various international partners and national actors, which will run for a period of 11 months, starting in November 2022.
The objective is to contribute to conflict prevention and risk mitigation in the run-up to October 2023 and beyond, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and the absence of violence in the political debate.
The expected results are to accelerate development in Liberia within an environment of consolidated peace and strengthened security.
