Cuban head of mission visits the pan-Arab channel Al Mayedeen in Beirut

The head of Cuba's diplomatic mission in Lebanon, Jorge León, described as a bastion of truth the work of the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen in the face of the disinformation of the Western media.

While visiting the headquarters of the institution, León spoke with the president of the Board of Directors of the news network, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, to whom he conveyed his congratulations for the tenth anniversary of the communicational platform in adherence to journalistic principles.

He also highlighted the role of Al Mayadeen in the current scenario, as well as the honesty of its collective to show the news with responsibility and based on strategic values in defense of just causes.

During the meeting, Ben Jeddou reiterated the channel's firmness in favor of reflecting in its spaces the human greatness and heroism of the peoples as part of the informative network of the global south, while reiterating its friendship towards the Cuban Revolution.

León learned about the operation and the informative process of the pan-Arab communicational platform, which presents to the television audience more than 10 bulletins per day and 17 different programs 24 hours a day.

Accompanied by the director of the website in Spanish, Wafica Ibrahim, the Cuban diplomat exchanged with journalists, announcers, producers and technical staff during the tour of the departments and offices.

In his farewell, he called on the Al Mayadeen collective to continue reporting the reality of the Arab world on the basis of dialogue, respect and equality.

The Al Mayadeen Network, headquartered in the Lebanese capital, went on air on June 11, 2012 and its correspondents currently report from Moscow, Washington, London, Tehran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Europe and all Arab countries.
