The audiovisual images reflected the funeral procession of the leader of the 26th of July Movement that overthrew the tyranny of Fulgencio Batista in January 1959, in a journey from Havana to Santiago de Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer was in charge of the opening remarks before an audience headed by the head of the Venezuelan legation in Beirut, Jesus Gregorio Gonzalez.

Also present were the secretary general of the Lebanese Democratic Party, Mohamed Hachicho; the representative of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ali Faisal; Maurice Nohra of the Lebanese Communist Party and president of the Lebanese-Cuban Friendship Association, the president of the League of Palestinians in Cuba, Ali El Khatib and members of the Association of Arab Latin American Solidarity "José Martí".
