Cubans in Toronto condemn terrorist Infiltration from Florida and demand end to blockade on Cuba

Toronto – March 1, 2026 – The Association of Cubans Residing in Toronto "Juan Gualberto Gómez" issued a forceful statement condemning the recent thwarted terrorist infiltration originating from South Florida, aimed at overthrowing the constitutional government of Cuba.

The Association expresses its "most energetic and profound condemnation" of this act, described as a "flagrant violation of the laws of both countries," a criminal act that threatens regional peace and Cuban sovereignty. It reaffirms its unconditional support for the Cuban people, defending national independence and principles of dignity and self-determination.

The statement reiterates firm condemnation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. since 1962, described as "collective punishment" and an "attempt to subdue Cuban families through hunger," violating International Law. It demands its "immediate and unconditional lifting," denouncing its devastating effects on the daily lives of millions.

The Association is confident that Cuba "will resist and overcome," sustained by popular unity, solid institutions, and the solidarity of its children abroad.
