Cuba's Ambassador to the African Union participates in High-Level Dialogue ahead of the AU Summit

Addis Ababa, February 10, 2026.- The Ambassador of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, participated in the High-Level Policy Dialogue prior to the African Union Summit, organized by Amani Africa Media and Research Services, under the theme "Africa at a crossroads: Pan-Africanism, the breakdown of the global order and the future of collective security."

The dialogue underscored the importance of renewing Pan-Africanism, strengthening continental cohesion, and participating in the multilateral system with greater confidence and firmness.

It was reaffirmed that African unity and collective action are essential for the advancement of Agenda 2063 and for building a continental vision of security that reflects the shared aspirations of African peoples.

Among the speakers were the Chief of Staff to the President of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mr. Mohamed El-Amine, Ambassador of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the AU, Hirut Zemene, Ambassador of Burundi to the AU and next President pro-tempore of the AU, Willy Nyamitwe, among others.
