Cuba's ambassadors-designate to Ethiopia and the African Union exchange with the Head of Citizens and Diaspora of the African Union Commission

Havana, December 14, 2024.- The Ambassadors-designate of Cuba to Ethiopia and the African Union, Ms. Meylin Suárez and Mr. Lucas D. Hernández, held a meeting with the Head of the Directorate of Citizenship and Diaspora of the African Union,  Ms. Angela Naa Afoley Odai, in the framework of her participation in the International Conference: Cuba 2024 Decade for People of African Descent.

The meeting was conducive to exchange on future work projects, after the upcoming arrival in Addis of Amb. Hernández, who will assume functions as Cuba's ambassador to the continental organization.

The AU has its diaspora as a community of people of African origin living outside the continent, regardless of their citizenship and nationality, who are willing to contribute to the development of the continent and the building of the African Union. This community is defined as the Sixth Region, and Cuba is considered a special part of it, which means an invaluable recognition of our country.
