Cuba's First Deputy Minister of Communications exchanged with Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology of India

The First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communications of Cuba, Wilfredo González Vidal, is visiting India as head of a business delegation.

During his first working day in the Indian capital, the Cuban Deputy Minister held a fruitful meeting with the Minister of State, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology of India, Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Cuban Ambassador Alejandro Simancas Marin, Deputy Head of Mission Abel Aballe Despaigne and members of the delegation were also present at the meeting on the Cuban side.

During the exchange, the possibilities of advancing bilateral cooperation in the sector were discussed, highlighting the digital transformation processes in both countries, and the opportunities in Cuba in information technology, as well as training and capacity building. They also discussed the opportunities of signing an agreement to strengthen exchanges related to information technologies.

Vice Minister Wilfredo González extended an invitation to India to participate in the nineteenth edition of the International Convention and Fair Informática 2024, to be held from March 18 to 22 in Havana.

Gonzalez also visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) where he received details of the prestigious research and teaching center. The possibilities of strengthening ties between the Indian Institute of Technology and Cuban universities were explored, as well as between the Havana Technology Park and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the Asian country.

On his second day, the Cuban Deputy Minister held meetings with executives of the companies C-Dot, Telematics Development Center, and NIIT Limited, a multinational corporation for the development of skills and talents, both based in the state of Haryana.
