In the framework of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution, on November 11 the Danish Communist Parties reaffirmed in Copenhagen their support and solidarity with Cuba at a time when the economic, commercial and financial blockade policy against the Caribbean island is reinforced. The Ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, who was invited to the activity, pointed out that her country, despite being subject to a fierce blockade imposed by the United States during more than five decades, has been unwavering to the principles that were the pillars of the October Revolution and it will stand firm to them. Likewise, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the importance of this historical feat for humanity, its significant impact on all people the world over and particularly in Cuba, where it contributed to create the conditions that made possible the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
At the event, the chairman of the Communist Party in Denmark (KPiD), Arne Cheller, recalled the ideas of Fidel Castro and his tireless anti-imperialist struggle, and together with the chairman of the Danish Communist Party, Jorgen Petersen, called for the unity and solidarity of all revolutionaries.
The activity had an extensive participation by the members of the communist parties, trade unions, artists for peace, musicians and Danish progressive youth, among others. (Embacuba Dinamarca)
