Riyadh, December 20th - A delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), led by its Director General of Asia Operations, Dr. Saud Ayid Al-Shammari, will visit Cuba from December 21st to 28th, 2021 with the aim of following up on the socio-economic projects in which this Saudi entity is contributing.
The main host of this delegation will be the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), but during their stay on the Island they will also hold meetings with executives from the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), the Office of the Historian of Havana City (OHCH), the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) and the Foreign Bank of Cuba (BEC), as well as with government authorities of Havana and Camagüey cities.
Within the framework of this visit, a memorandum of understanding on the financing of current bilateral projects will be signed and also the project for the rehabilitation of the water supply and sanitation of Camagüey city will be inaugurated.
The SFD began its collaboration with Cuba in 2010 and since then several agreements have been signed and executed as proof of the will of both parties to continue with the exchange in economic and commercial matters.
Last November 3rd, the new Cuban Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada, held the first meeting with the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the SFD, Sultan Bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, during which the willingness of that fund to continue cooperating with Cuba in the different projects of mutual interest was ratified.
