Santiago de Cuba, 12 April 2018. The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mr. Thomas Kwesi Quartey arrived in Santiago de Cuba to participate in the XVI International Conference on African and Afro-American Culture where he delivered a keynote address on the implementation of the flagship programs of the organization.
The visit of the high level representative of the African Union coincided with the 30th Anniversary of the African Cultural Center "Fernando Ortiz", institution that led the organizing commitee of the event.
The Deputy Chairperson was welcomed in the Provincial Government of Santiago de Cuba by its President, H.E. Mrs Beatriz Johnson. He also held a meeting with the African Diplomatic Corps accredited to Cuba and with a group of African students.
