AUSTRIA, 19 June 2017. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla was received by the H.E Mr. Wolfgang Brandstetter Deputy Federal Chancellor (Deputy Head of Government) and Minister of Justice of Austria.
Both authorities talked about the positive course of the bilateral relations and the positive prospects for the development of the cooperation in new areas of common interest. The Deputy Federal Chancellor reviewed the outcomes of the two visits he has performed to Cuba and, specially, the advances in the implementation of the MoU signed between the Ministries of Justice of Cuba and Austria for the cooperation in the field of technology applied to legal system.
The Cuban Foreign Minister recognized Austria´s historic position against the blockade imposed by the United States, voting in favor of the Cuban Resolution since 1993. He also stressed Austria´s participation in the negotiation process of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement signed between Cuba and the European Union in December 2016.
The Ambassador of Cuba to Austria, H.E. Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, the Director of the Division of Europe and Canada of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Elio Rodríguez Perdomo, and the Chief of the Minister´s Cabinet, Ambassador Bárbara Elena Montalvo also participated in this meeting.
