Dr. Olga Lidia Jacobo Casanueva, Director of the Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED) completed a work program in New Delhi that included meetings with the main Indian health authorities.
The Doctor visited the headquarters of the Central Drugs Control Organization (CDSCO) where she was received by the Director General, Dr. Venugopal G. Somani and Deputy Director Rubina Bose. During the meeting, the main aspects of a draft memorandum of understanding were discussed and the possibilities of cooperation between both institutions in facilitating and creating better conditions for the development of trade and economic relations in the biopharmaceutical sector were discussed.
She was also received by the Secretary of Health and Social Welfare, Rajesh Bushan and the Secretary of the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Pramod Kumar. In each of the meetings, the willingness to strengthen bilateral collaboration, consolidate the MOU mechanism in the health sector and receive the necessary assistance for further development of traditional Ayurvedic medicine in Cuba and the Havana Panchakarma Center was ratified.
