Namibia, June 22, 2022.- Ambassador Sabine Böhlke-Möller, general director of Bilateral Affairs of the Namibian Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, received Aldo Luis Fuentes Acosta, second secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Namibia, and counsellor Rodolfo Ricardo Guzmán, who will assume the functions of Fuentes in the Diplomatic Mission.
The Namibian Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs. Esther Mwoombola, director of America, the Caribbean and Africa, Mrs. Frieda Guios, deputy director of that division and Mr. Tjunao Karumendu, Cuba specialist at the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation.
The meeting, held within the framework of the handover plan between both Cuban officials, was propitious for Fuentes to thank the Namibian counterpart for the excellent working ties and the permanent support for the work of the Diplomatic Mission.
Ambassador Böhlke-Möller highlighted the work carried out by the young diplomat. Similarly, she highlighted the labour relations established and recalled some of the events, meetings and visits organized together.
The General Director of Namibian Bilateral Affairs also welcomed Counsellor Ricardo Guzmán and wished him success in fulfilling his duties.
The representatives of the Island updated the counterpart on the evolution of COVID-19 in Cuba and the difficulties caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.
For their part, the Ambassador and the rest of the officials present condemned the US coercive measures and reiterated their government's support for Cuba.
