Addis Ababa, December 26, 2025.- The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba donated a collection of books to the Abrehot Library as part of its efforts to support education, cultural exchange, and the dissemination of knowledge in Ethiopia.
The donated collection includes a special selection of books dedicated to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, in the year marking the centenary of his birth. These works help expand knowledge about his life, thought, and historical legacy, and represent a valuable contribution for students, researchers, and the general public.
The Library’s Director, Muluken Tariku, expressed his gratitude to the Embassy for this contribution, noting that the books will enrich the institution’s bibliographic holdings and strengthen its mission as a space for learning and cultural exchange in Addis Ababa.
As part of the event, a presentation of the traditional Cuban dance Son was also featured, recently recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The performance was delivered by Shine Dance Studio Ethiopia, offering attendees a living expression of Cuba’s rich cultural and musical heritage.
This initiative reflects the strong bonds of friendship, cooperation, and brotherhood between Cuba and Ethiopia, and reaffirms the commitment of the Cuban Embassy to continue promoting cultural initiatives that foster mutual understanding and exchange between both peoples.
