The Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia commemorates the sixth anniversary of the physical disappearance of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz

Addis Ababa, November 25, 2022. The members of the State Mission of Cuba in Ethiopia accompanied by Cuban residents and Ethiopians graduated in Cuba paid a heartfelt tribute in the Memorial Park to the Friendship between Ethiopia and Cuba, in commemoration of the VI Anniversary of the physical disappearance of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.

During the meeting, a wreath was laid in a pine tree planted during the 93rd anniversary of the birth of the Commander in Chief and floral offerings were laid in the murals with the portraits stamped in copper of the 169 Cubans internationalist who fell in defense of Ethiopia.

The Cuban ambassador, Jorge Lefebre, outlined in his words the historic friendship between both countries through solidarity and cooperation in different sectors, all of which was the result of the thought and work of the Commander in Chief towards the African continent.

"We understand that in this monument, heart of our nation in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian-Cubans and Ethiopia as a whole, pay their respects to a man of universal revolutionary stature," the Cuban diplomat added in his interlocution.

Abebe Ayalew, president of the Association of Friendship with Cuba, said at this meeting, "Fidel sowed ideals of justice and worked to change the destiny of the dispossessed on the planet, of which we, the Ethiopian-Cubans, are an example."
