Embassy of Cuba participated in the 8th Ibero-American Book Fair in Canada

Ottawa, October 4, 2026.—The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Canada participated in the 8th Ibero-American Book Fair in Canada (FILibro Canada 2026), an event that brought together in Ottawa writers, publishers, cultural managers, diplomatic representatives, and literature enthusiasts from different countries and traditions.

The Ibero-American Book Fair in Canada was held on October 3 and 4 at Saint Paul University as part of Hispanic Heritage Month in Ontario and Latin American Heritage Month in Canada. This edition of the Fair featured the participation of more than 95 writers, publishers, and cultural managers, as well as representatives of 15 embassies. The program included literary presentations, book exhibitions and sales, cultural activities, and spaces for exchange between authors and readers.

Cuba’s presence at this gathering provides an opportunity to promote Cuban literature and culture, as well as to bring Canadian audiences closer to the literary creation of the Island and to the voices of Cuban writers residing in Canada. It also contributes to cultural exchange and the strengthening of ties among the Ibero-American communities present in Canada, in a space dedicated to promoting reading and literary creation.
