Addis Ababa, June 24, 2024. The Embassy of Argentina in Ethiopia hosted the briefing on the 2nd Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean: Shared Solutions to Common Challenges in the Context of the African Year of Education.
The session was attended by the Latin embassies accredited in Addis, representatives of OBREAL and the African Union. Among the topics discussed were the preparatory roadmap for the Addis Interregional Dialogue, opportunities to contribute to the program through its different sessions and logistical information for potential foreign participants.
The 2nd Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, co-organized by the African Union, the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil through the Ministry of Education and CAPES, the Association of African Universities (AAU), the Latin American and Caribbean Higher Education Space (ENLACES) and OBREAL, will be held in person at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from July 23 to 25 of this year.
Cuba will be represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education that will exchange on the results in education in Cuba.
This event embodies the agreements reached by the African Union and the regions of Latin America and the Caribbean regarding the higher education sector and institutions as vectors of regional and continental integration and development, with special emphasis on South-South cooperation. These agreements were formulated during the first edition of the interregional dialogue held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in March 2023.
