Addis Ababa, June 21, 2024.- The Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia, Natalys Dinza, participated in the pre-launch program of the Green Legacy 2024 at the invitation of the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
The event took place at the headquarters of the PM Office, together with the diplomatic corps accredited in Ethiopia, the country's Council of Ministers and leading government figures.
Ethiopia's Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Girma Amente, announced that this year's Green Legacy program will be held under the theme "Planting a Nation that Strengthens the Generation."
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stressed the importance of this initiative in combating the devastating effects of climate change.
Abiy praised the great results achieved after the start of the Green Legacy in the environment, fruit and vegetable production, and resilience of the communities. Similarly, he mentioned that for this year the country's goal is to reach 40 billion seedlings planted, for which he said that it is necessary to plant 7,500 million seedlings.
