Addis Ababa, July 7, 2026.- Ethiopia reaffirmed that the unilateral coercive measures imposed against Cuba constitute a serious obstacle to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), limiting the country's development and affecting sectors essential to the well-being of its population.
In this context, the Ethiopian government reiterated its call for an end to these policies and, in particular, for the lifting of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, considering that its effects harm the island's economic and social development.
With this position, Ethiopia joins the broad international consensus advocating for an end to the blockade and reaffirms, along with the African continent, its commitment to solidarity with the Cuban people.
