Addis Ababa, March 10, 2021. The Cuban Ambassador, Vilma Thomas Ramírez, offered this morning an interview to the Addis Media Network, which is affiliated with the Mayor Office of the Ethiopian capital city.
The recent celebration of the 43 Anniversary of the Karramara Victory, name by which the victory of Cuban and Ethiopian military forces in the Ogaden war is known, was among the topics covered during the interview. In that regard, Ambassador Vilma highlighted that commemoration is a well-deserved homage to the heroes and martyrs of both countries and a special moment for keeping alive the history of our peoples.
The Ambassador of Cuba also commented on the collaboration projects in which both governments are working, in particular in matters of health, professional training and biotechnology. Likewise, she highlighted the potential that the two countries have to increase economic-commercial exchanges.
Ambassador Vilma appreciated the solidarity with Cuba shown by the Ethiopian people and government, mainly for the country´s historic support to Cuba in United Nations and the African Union in the Cuban struggle against the illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US against our country.
