Addis Ababa, September 7, 2023. The Cuban ambassador to Ethiopia, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás, granted an interview to the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA), about the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the G-77 plus China, that will meet in Havana on September 15 and 16.
During the meeting, the ambassador stressed the Summit will be an opportunity to work together for the unity and decisive action of the countries of the South, particularly the building of a new international economic order, the reform of the global financial architecture and the rejection of unilateral coercive measures, which currently affect countries that make up the group such as Ethiopia and Cuba.
The ambassador took the opportunity to congratulate Ethiopia on its new inclusion in the BRICS bloc, an opportunity that he pointed out as propitious to face the economic and financial difficulties that the country is currently going through, through trade and technology transfer agreements with countries with stronger economies such as China, Brazil and India.
Likewise, the Cuban diplomat extended his congratulations for the upcoming commemoration of the Ethiopian New Year, on September 11, wishing peace and prosperity to all his people.
