Exhibition in honor of Tamara Bunke opens in St. Pölten, Austria

Vienna, September 19, 2025.– First Secretary Lisset González López attended the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the life and legacy of Tamara Bunke, “Tania la Guerrillera,” at a ceremony held in St. Pölten, capital of the federal state of Lower Austria.

The exhibition pays tribute to the internationalist and revolutionary who dedicated her life to the struggle for justice and the sovereignty of peoples. The event was attended by representatives of social movements, members of the academic community, and friends of Cuba.

During her speech, the diplomat highlighted the relevance of Tamara Bunke's example in the current context, emphasizing the values of solidarity and resistance that characterize her legacy. She also referred to the importance of internationalism as a fundamental principle of Cuban foreign policy, even in the face of the challenges posed by the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island.

The exhibition will remain open to the public for the next few weeks, offering visitors the opportunity to learn more about the life and work of one of the most emblematic figures of revolutionary solidarity in Latin America.

The event strengthened the ties of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Austria and served as a space to reaffirm the common commitment to peace and global justice.
