FAREWELL OF THE ETHIOPIAN PRESIDENT IN HIS OFFICIAL VISIT TO CUBA

Addis Abeba, January 8, 2018.  The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Dr. Mulatu Teshome traveled in the early hours of this morning to Cuba to paid an Official Visit of four days.

The Cuban Ambassador to the African Union, H.E. Mr.  Angel Villa and the First Secretary of the Cuban diplomatic mission Mr. Germán Acosta, bid farewell to the Ethiopian dignitary at Bole´s International Airport.

The Ethiopian President is accompanied by the Ethiopian Ministers of Health and Science and Technology respectively, as well as by other high officials from the Foreign Ministry.

This is the second trip of the sitting Ethiopian President to Cuba.  The previous occasion was in December 2016 to attend the funeral of the deceased Cuban historic leader Fidel Castro Ruz.

Cuba and Ethiopia have historic and fraternal relations since 1975.
