The FDLP’s Department of Foreign Affairs condemns the U.S.’s aggressive measures against Cuba
Palestine condemns the U.S. arrest warrant against Cuban leader Raúl Castro
“This measure is considered a political and legal act of aggression directed against the sovereignty of an independent state, and constitutes a flagrant interference in its internal affairs.”
The United States continues to enshrine the logic of arrogance and hegemony by imposing its domestic laws as a standard superior to international law, in a clear violation of the principles of national sovereignty and equality among states.
This measure is part of a long-standing U.S. policy, manifested in the blockade imposed on Cuba, the aggression against Venezuela and the detention of its legitimate president, and interference in the affairs of States. All of this reflects a deliberate disregard for international legitimacy and its institutions.
The U.S. administration, with its aggressive policies, loses all credibility in its claim to defend the rule of law, democracy, and human rights—especially in light of its attacks against the International Criminal Court, its judges, and the International Court of Justice.
We reaffirm our solidarity with the Cuban leadership and people in the face of the U.S. blockade and pressure.
We urge the countries of the world and their international organizations to condemn this aggression and to take practical measures to stop it.
We warn that international silence encourages impunity, threatens international peace and stability, and undermines the system of international law.
