Namibia, September 7th, 2021- Sidenio Acosta, Ambassador of Cuba to Namibia, and Ambassador Sabine Böhlke-Möller, General Director of Bilateral Affairs of the local Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, held an organizational meeting prior to the V Session of the Joint Working Group Cuba - Namibia, which will be held virtually on September 8th and 9th. Both were accompanied by officials from the Cuban Embassy and the Namibian Foreign Ministry.
At the meeting, the Ambassadors reviewed the main logistical and content issues still pending. Similarly, the excellent state of bilateral relations was confirmed.
The Cuba - Namibia Joint Working Group began its sessions in 2015, in Havana, Cuba, as part of the interest of both governments to promote trade and cooperation ties. The meetings have been held periodically in the respective capitals. However, the global incidence of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the meeting to be held virtually.
Deborah Rivas, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Hon. Jenelly Matundu, Vice Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, chair the Joint Working Group for Cuba and Namibia, respectively.
