The second Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in India, Abel Aballe Despaigne, attended the inauguration ceremony of the first bilateral course on Artificial Intelligence, within the framework of the Indian Technical Program for Economic Cooperation (ITEC), to be held at the Center for Development and Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in New Delhi.
The event was presided over by Amar Singh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India; Naveen Kumar Jain, head of the C-DAC in Delhi; and Abhinav Dixit, Head of Department at the C-DAC; who highlighted the historical relations of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and India, as well as the importance of this course as an example of the progress in the development of ties between both countries in Information Technologies.
The Cuban diplomat, highlighted the realization of the first edition of this bilateral course, in the framework of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and India. He reiterated our interest in holding other courses in the future in areas such as robotics, renewable energies, health and Ayurveda, while stressing the willingness to continue strengthening cooperation with the C-DAC center, based on direct exchange with Cuban academic institutions and participation in events such as Informatics and University, which are held in Havana periodically.
He also pointed out the contribution of this course for the development of our country and to overcome the obstacles imposed by the blockade in the area of informatics and the development of information science, which hinders the capacity of our technicians to receive training in this type of emerging technologies.
The Cuban group is made up of representatives of the Cuban government, academia and institutions who are involved in the process of developing e-government and the digitalization of society in Cuba.
