Vienna, May 23, 2023 - The First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Justice of Cuba, Rosabel Gamón Verde, held a fraternal meeting with young people in solidarity with Cuba in Austria, on the occasion of her working visit to the country, to participate in the sessions of the 32nd Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, from May 22 to 26.
At the meeting, which was also attended by the Cuban Ambassador to Austria Pablo Berti Oliva and the diplomatic staff of the Cuban State Mission in Vienna, the First Deputy Minister thanked and stressed the importance of maintaining solidarity with Cuba in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years, which affects all economic and social sectors of the country.
Vice Minister Gamón Verde updated those present on the situation of our country, the challenges it faces in the economic, political and social spheres, multiplied by the campaign of harassment and encirclement maintained by the current U.S. administration. She also denounced the inclusion of Cuba in the fraudulent list of State sponsors of terrorism.
The young people exchanged with the visitor, taking an interest in the efforts and strategies that the country is carrying out to maintain its socialist socioeconomic project and break the siege imposed by Yankee imperialism.
The First Deputy Minister and the Cuban Ambassador thanked the young people for their support and encouraged them to continue spreading the truth about Cuba, in the midst of the political-media campaigns against the country.
