First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry of Cuba arrives in Vienna.

Vienna, Nov. 26. The First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry (MINDUS), Yamilín González Milián, arrived in Vienna to lead the Cuban delegation to the Twentieth General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

The Deputy Minister of Industry was received by Pablo Berti Oliva, Cuban Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organizations in Vienna, who updated her on UNIDO's Programs and their implications for Cuba, as well as the calendar of the Conference and the objectives proposed for the Cuban delegation.

The General Conference is the highest policy-making body of UNIDO and will hold its 20th session from 27 November to 1 December 2023 as a hybrid event, with both face-to-face and virtual participation.

Under the overarching theme "Fair Globalization: Innovative Solutions for Tomorrow's Industry," the Conference will reflect transformative developments and aims to forge new pathways towards sustainability, digital inclusion and economic resilience. Special emphasis will be placed on how inclusive and sustainable industrial development can support sustainable supply chains, limit climate disruption and contribute to ending hunger.

The Cuban delegation is also composed of Pablo Berti Oliva, Permanent Representative of Cuba to UNIDO, Dianelis León, Business Director of MINDUS and other officials of the Permanent Mission of Cuba in Vienna.
