Monrovia, September 29, 2023.- The members of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Liberia lived an afternoon of luxury and pride when they received the special visit of the first two Liberians graduated in Cuba in the specialty of Medicine, fruit of the bilateral relations Cuba-Liberia, who were received with a special welcome by the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera.
Both thanked the Cuban government for the signs of solidarity and brotherhood to help young people from other countries to fulfill their dreams of bringing their contribution in the health sector to their respective countries.
Listening to them talk -with simplicity and so much affection- about their experiences in different Cuban provinces and the meaning that Cuba has for them, is not only a source of pride, but also a push to continue working for the future of other friendly peoples.
Since 1999, thousands of young people from low-income families from different countries have graduated as doctors and other health specialties in the Greater Antilles, a program devised by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
