The Chairman of the Liberian Freedom Party, Honorable Mac Della Cooper, received Cuban Ambassador Dr. Indira López Arguelles.
Ms. Cooper, who serves as Presidential Advisor at the Executive Mansion, welcomed the Ambassador to the presidential residence and expressed the solidarity and support of her party, the Liberian people, and the government for Cuba's struggle against the U.S. blockade.
The Cuban Ambassador, in turn, congratulated Liberia on its non-permanent seat on the Security Council and provided an update on the effects of the inhumane and illegal blockade on the Cuban people. She also discussed some of the potential opportunities for cooperation and collaboration between the two developing, non-aligned nations to strengthen their bilateral ties.
