The National Committee of Solidarity with Cuba in India issued a letter addressed to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) expressing its extreme sorrow for the tragic accident that occurred last May 6 at the Saratoga Hotel and regretting the fatalities in this unfortunate event, while wishing a speedy recovery to all the injured.
The letter signed by the president of the Committee, Nilotpal Basu, highlights the speed with which the rescue activities have been carried out and the constant presence of President Miguel Diaz-Canel at the accident site. It concludes by pointing out that the people of Cuba, who are always at the forefront when needed in other parts of the world, are facing this calamity with determination in their own capital and reiterates India's solidarity with Cuba and its readiness to collaborate in every possible way.
