Friends of Cuba in Liberia reaffirm the Cuban people's right to sovereignty and independence.

On May 31, members of the Friendship Association and other friends of solidarity with Cuba met at the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia.

Those present were briefed on the situation on the island by the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Argüelles, and learned details of the tightening of the blockade, the energy embargo, and the genocidal effects of the Trump administration's executive orders against the Cuban people.

Following this, those present viewed several documentaries and the "Raúl is Raúl" Roundtable program, in support of the revolutionary leader's work and in commemoration of his 95th birthday.

The friends present denounced the fraudulent and illegal accusation by the U.S. government, which seeks to serve as a legal pretext for military action against the island and as justification to the public for the genocidal punishment to which Cubans are being subjected.

Afterwards, those present signed the Final Declaration of the Anti-Imperialist and Solidarity with Cuba Meeting “100 Years with Fidel” and discussed possible actions to be taken in the city leading up to August 13th.

The participants emphasized the need to support and disseminate the truth of international law and the imperative rejection of imperialist interference, which is suffocating Cuba today and threatens all peoples tomorrow.
