Port of Spain, May 13th, 2026. The Trinidad and Tobago Friends of Cuba reaffirmed its support for the Cuban people through a letter addressed to U.S. President Donald Trump.
In the letter, the group reiterated its call for the lifting of all sanctions against Cuba, for Cuba to be allowed to freely provide medical cooperation to other countries, and for an end to the blockade policy in all its forms.
The letter, signed by Mr. Clyde Callender and other members of the organization, describes as inhumane the policy that the United States maintains toward Cuba, arguing that it seeks to create a humanitarian crisis on the island through hunger and economic pressure.
