The friendship organizations with Cuba in Azerbaijan and Georgia announced through their leaders' pronouncements the support for the Cuban people and the condemnation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island for more than half a century.
In friendly meetings held at the Embassy of the Republic in Baku with Arif Huseynov, of Azerbaijan and Pavel Djibouti of Georgia, the Cuban ambassador, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, offered details about the effects caused to the Cuban people by the blockade.
The Cuban diplomat referred to the damage caused by the genocidal policy of the US government and encouraged both managers to intensify their actions to demand an immediate end to the criminal blockade.
Nieves Portuondo stressed that the blockade continues to be the main obstacle to the development of the island, regardless of whether it constitutes a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of the Cuban people.
The solidarity friends on behalf of the members of the foundation expressed their condemnation of this genocidal and failed policy against the Cuban people and also rejected its extraterritorial nature and the measures used to justify interventionist actions and new sanctions that violate international law.
