Toronto, February 22nd, 2019.- On Thursday night, there was a fundraising event in this city for the victims of the tornado that hit the Cuban capital on January 27.
Organized by the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto "Juan Gualberto Gómez", the event also brought together members of solidarity groups with Cuba, among which were the Cuban-Canadian Friendship Association, the Latin American Solidarity Network and Consulate officials General of Cuba in this city. Among the attendees was Cuba's leading intellectual friend, Keith Ellis, and City Councillor Anthony Perruzza.
The occasion became a cultural evening enlivened by the group Martinez All Stars, composed of Cuban and Latin American musicians, who offered an interpretation of themes that motivated those present to dance and sing. On the other hand, the Cuban Daisy Camejo declaimed a poem composed by her and the young Cuban Javier Truyol, who collaborated from Mayabeque, Cuba
The solidarity event was hosted by "Lula Lounge", a reference scenario for the presentation of Cuban artists in this important Canadian city.
